Spike that eggnog and grab your coping mechanisms, it's time for Christmas with the whole family! No family is perfect, so when we're all gathered for a peaceful meal together, we need to remember that we love each other. After bickering in the house for hours over the correct way to cook the mashed potatoes, it's easy to watch the delicate balance unravel. As a kid, we never noticed that our aunties and uncles were spiking the punch and rolling their eyes– we were fixated on what was under the tree, gossiping about what Santa was bringing us.

As adults, now we're the ones working overtime to maintain the illusion of magic on this holiest of holidays and, quite frankly, I'll stop at nothing to give the kiddos the best day ever. So this Christmas, do what you gotta do to survive the family dinners and don't let the drama get you down.
